Algebra, VIII, p. 35, § 2. The Structure of Modules of Finite Length

Let M be a semiprimordial module. Let (Mi)i∈I(M_i)_{i\in I} and (Mj′)j∈J(M'_j)_{j\in J} be families of primordial submodules of M such that

M=⨁i∈IMi=⨁j∈JMj′ M =\bigoplus_{i\in I}M_i=\bigoplus_{j\in J}M'_j

Then there exist an automorphism uu of M and a bijection φ\varphi from I to J such that we have u(Mi)=Mφ(i)′u(M_i) = M'_{\varphi(i)} for every i∈Ii\in I.

For any primordial module L, let ILI_L (resp. JLJ_L) be the set of indices i∈Ii\in I (resp. j∈Jj\in J) such that MiM_i (resp. Mj′M'_j) is isomorphic to L. The nonempty sets of the form ILI_L (resp. JLJ_L) form a partition of I (resp. J), and for every L, we have

Card(IL_L) == Card(JL_L) =[M:L]= [M : L];

the corollary follows.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
