Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VII, § 4. Regular elements of a Lie group

Let G1G_1 and G2G_2 be two finite dimensional Lie groups over kk. An element (g1,g2)(g_1, g_2) of G1×G2G_1\times G_2 is regular if and only if g1g_1 and g2g_2 are regular elements of G1G_1 and G2G_2, respectively.

The condition is necessary by Prop. 2. We show that it is sufficient. For all g=(g1,g2)∈G1×G2,rAd(g)=rAd(g1)+rAd(g2)g= (g_1, g_2)\in G_1\times G_2,r_{Ad}(g) =r_{Ad}(g_1) +r_{Ad}(g_2). In view of Lemma 1 (ii), it follows that rAd0(g)=rAd0(g1)+rAd0(g2)r^0_{Ad}(g) =r^0_{Ad}(g_1) +r_{Ad}^0(g_2). If g1g_1 and g2g_2 are regular, rAd0(g1)=r^0_{Ad}(g_1) = rAd(g1)r_{Ad}(g_1) and rAd0(g2)=rAd(g2)r^0_{Ad}(g_2) =r_{Ad}(g_2), so rAd0(g)=rAd(g)r^0_{Ad}(g) =r_{Ad}(g), which means that gg is regular.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
