Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter IX, § 5. Conjugacy classes

Assume that G is simply-connected. Let C be a chamber of t\mathfrak{t}, and uu an automorphism of G such that T and C are stable under uu. Then the set of points of T fixed by uu is connected.

Since G is simply-connected, Γ(T)\Gamma (T) is generated by the nodal vectors KαK_{\alpha} (α∈R(G,T))(\alpha \in R(G,T)), and hence has a basis consisting of the family of the KαK_{\alpha} for which α\alpha belongs to the basis B(C) defined by C (Chap. VI, §1, no. 10). Thus, it suffices to prove that, if φ\varphi is an automorphism of the torus T leaving stable a basis of Γ\Gamma(T), the set of fixed points of φ\varphi is connected. Decomposing this basis into the disjoint union of the orbits of the group generated by φ\varphi, we are reduced to the case in which T=UnT =\mathbf{U}^n and φ\varphi is the automorphism (z1,...,zn)→(z2,...,zn,z1)(z_1, . . . , z_n) \rightarrow (z_2, . . . , z_n, z_1); in this case the fixed points of φ\varphi are the points (z,z,...,z)(z, z, . . . , z) for z∈Uz\in \mathbf{U}, which form a connected subgroup of T.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
