Topologie algébrique, chapter I, § 6. Espaces simplement connexes

Let E be a finite-dimensional vector space of dimension nn over R\mathbf{R} and let F be an affine subspace of E of codimension p⩾3p\geqslant 3. The set Rp−{0}\mathbf{R}^p-\{0\} is homeomorphic to R×Sp−1\mathbf{R}\times \mathbf{S}_{p-1} (TG, VI, p. 10, cor. 2), and therefore is simply connected, since R\mathbf{R} and Sp−1\mathbf{S}_{p-1} are locally connected and simply connected (I, p. 126, prop. 4). The set E-F, homeomorphic to Rn−p×\mathbf{R}^{n-p}\times (Rp−{0})(\mathbf{R}^p-\{0\}), is therefore simply connected (loc. cit.).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
