Topologie algébrique, chapter II, § 3. Groupoïdes
A groupoid is a category each arrow of which is invertible.
Let G be a groupoid and let be a vertex of G. The monoid is a group, denoted by and called the isotropy group of G at .
Let be vertices of G and let be an arrow joining to . The mapping is a group isomorphism of onto , denoted by Int(). If and are composable arrows of G, one has Int() Int() Int() ; the inverse of the isomorphism Int() is the isomorphism Int().
A morphism of groupoids is a morphism of categories. Moreover, is an isomorphism of groupoids if and only if it is an isomorphism of categories.
Let be a morphism of groupoids. For every vertex of G, the mapping of into is a group homomorphism denoted by . In particular, one has .
For every arrow of G is the inverse of . If is an arrow of G joining a vertex to a vertex , one thus has, for every element , the relation Int()(Int()).
Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
