Topologie algébrique, chapter II, § 4. Homotopies
The quiver morphism is a groupoid morphism from G into Coh( ), and the mapping is a homotopy joining to .
The triple (Coh( )) has the following universal property: if is a groupoid, a morphism of groupoids from G into and Som(H) Fl(G) a homotopy joining to , there exists a unique morphism of groupoids Coh( ) such that
(3) and Fl( ).
In view of the definition of the groupoid deduced by contraction of arrows, the contraction of the loops (1) implies that is a morphism of groupoids, and the contraction of the loops (2) that is a homotopy joining to .
Let be as in the statement. Let be the morphism of quivers from into such that Som() is equal to Som() and such that Fl() coincides with Fl() on Fl(G) and with on Som(H). There exists a unique morphism of groupoids Grp(G) such that . Since is a morphism of groupoids and is a homotopy joining to defines by passing to the quotient a morphism of groupoids from Coh( ) into II, p. 170, proposition 3). This morphism satisfies relations (3), and it is the only one (II, p. 185, proposition 2).
Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
