Topologie algébrique, chapter III, § 2. Homotopie et chemins

Let X be a topological space. A path in X is called any continuous mapping cc of I\mathbf{I} into X. The point c(0)c(0) is called the origin, the point c(1)c(1) the term of the path cc. A loop in X is called a path in X whose origin is equal to the term.

Let xx and yy be points of X. One says that a path cc in X joins xx to yy if xx is its origin and yy is its term.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
