Topologie algébrique, chapter IV, § 6. Espaces classifiants

Let X be a normal topological space, let A be a closed subspace of X and let U be a neighbourhood of A in X. Let ff and f′f' be continuous homotopic mappings of U into a topological space Z. If ff possesses a continuous extension to X, the same is true of the mapping f′∣Af'|A.

Let F be a continuous mapping of X into Z such that F∣U=fF|U =f. Let us choose a homotopy σ:A×I→Z\sigma : A\times \mathbf{I}\rightarrow Z joining f′f' to ff. By Cor. 1, there exists a homotopy σ~:X×I→Z\widetilde{\sigma}: X\times \mathbf{I}\rightarrow Z with term F which extends σ\sigma. The origin of σ~\widetilde{\sigma} is then a continuous mapping of X into Z which coincides with f′f' on A.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
