Topologie algébrique, chapter IV, § 6. Espaces classifiants

Suppose that G is a discrete topological group. The subgroup ι(G)\iota (G) is then a discrete subgroup of G∗G^*. In fact, the topology of G is defined by the distance dd on G given by d(g,g′)=1d(g, g') = 1 if g≠g′g=\not g' and d(g,g′)=0d(g, g') = 0 otherwise. The assertion then follows from the preceding remark.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
