Théories spectrales, chapter II, § 1. Transformation de Fourier

Let φ:G→H\varphi : G\rightarrow H be a morphism of locally compact commutative groups. Then the subgroup Im(φ\varphi ) of H and the subgroup Ker(φ^\widehat{\varphi}) of H^\widehat{H} are orthogonal to one another. In particular, in order that φ^\widehat{\varphi} be injective, it is necessary and sufficient that the image of φ\varphi be dense in H.

We have Ker(φ^\widehat{\varphi}) =φ(G)⊥=\varphi (G)^{\bot} (Lemma 2 of II, p. 205), whence the result by Corollary 3.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
