Théories spectrales, chapter III, § 2. Exemples d’applications linéaires compactes
Let and . The mapping defined on X by is -integrable for every outside a locally -negligible set, and coincides with the class of the function
defined locally -almost everywhere.
Let denote the set of such that the mapping is not -integrable. Let and let C be a compact neighbourhood of , whose characteristic function is denoted by . By condition (2) applied to and , the function is integrable on with respect to the measure . By the Lebesgue-Fubini theorem (INT, V, p. 96, § 8, No., Theorem 1, a)), the function is -integrable for outside a -negligible set . Since , it follows that is locally -negligible in Y (INT, IV, p. 172, § 5, No., Definition 3).
Let denote the mapping defined locally -almost everywhere on Y by . It is locally -integrable (INT, V, loc. cit.). Let . We have
(INT, V, loc. cit.). Hence locally -almost everywhere (cf. INT, V, p. 46, § 5, No., Corollary 2).
Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
