Spectral Theories, III, p. 126
Let E be a complex Hilbert space.
a) Let n be an integer with n⩾2. We denote by I=N×{0,...,n}. Let (σi)1⩽i⩽n be the family of permutations of I defined by
σi(m,i)=(m−1,i) for m⩾1
σi(0,i)=(0,i−1)
σi(m,i−1)=(m+1,i−1) for m⩾0
σi(m,j)=(m,j) for m⩾0 and j∈/{i,i−1}.
b) We denote by (em,i) the canonical orthonormal basis of ℓ2(I). Let ui be the endomorphism of ℓ2(I) such that ui(em,j)=eσi(m,j) for all (m,j)∈I. The endomorphism ui is unitary.
c) The elements π(ui) are pairwise commuting.
d) There does not exist a family (v1,...,vn) of unitary endomorphisms of E, pairwise commuting, such that π(vi)=π(ui) for all i.
