Théories spectrales, chapter V, § 3. Fonctions de type positif

Let A be a unital involutive Banach algebra. Let a∈Aa\in A. The spectrum of a∗a^* is the image SpA(a)∗_A(a)^* of SpA(a)_A(a) under complex conjugation. For every f∈Of\in \mathscr{O}(SpA(a)_A(a)), one has f(a)∗=f∗(a∗)f(a)^*=f^*(a^*).

The first assertion follows from I, p. 97. From what precedes, the mapping φ\varphi of O\mathscr{O}(SpA(a)_A(a)) into A defined by f↦(f∗(a∗))∗f\mapsto (f^*(a^*))^* is a continuous unital morphism of O\mathscr{O}(SpA(a)_A(a)) into A such that the image of the germ in a neighbourhood of SpA(a)_A(a) of the identity function of C\mathbf{C} is equal to aa. Consequently, φ\varphi is the mapping f↦f(a)f\mapsto f(a) of the holomorphic functional calculus (I, p. 74, th. 5).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
