Théories spectrales, chapter V, § 3. Fonctions de type positif

Let A be an involutive algebra. A linear form λ\lambda on A is said to be positive if λ(a∗a)∈R+\lambda (a^*a)\in \mathbf{R}_+ for every a∈Aa\in A.

If A is an involutive Banach algebra, one denotes by A+′A'_+ the set of continuous positive linear forms on A.

Let A be an involutive Banach algebra. The set A+′A'_+ is a pointed convex cone in the real vector space of C\mathbf{C}-linear forms on A.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
