Théories spectrales, chapter V, § 3. Fonctions de type positif

Let φ\varphi be a function of positive type on G and let (ϱ1,x1)(\varrho_1, x_1) and (ϱ2,x2)(\varrho_2, x_2) be Hilbertian realizations of φ\varphi, the Hilbertian representation (ϱ1,x1)(\varrho_1, x_1) being cyclic. There exists a unique isometric G-morphism uu of ϱ1\varrho_1 into ϱ2\varrho_2 such that u(x1)=x2u(x_1) =x_2. If (ϱ2,x2)(\varrho_2, x_2) is also cyclic, then uu is an isomorphism.

For 1⩽j⩽21\leqslant j\leqslant 2, let us denote by EjE_j the space of ϱj\varrho_j and by γj\gamma_j the function on G defined by γj(g)=ϱj(g)xj\gamma_j(g) =\varrho_j(g)x_j for every g∈Gg\in G. The pairs (E1,γ1)(E_1, \gamma_1) and (E2,γ2)(E_2, \gamma_2) are Hilbertian realizations of the function of positive type (g,h)↦φ(g−1h)(g, h)\mapsto \varphi (g^{-1}h), and (E1,γ1)(E_1, \gamma_1) is a cyclic Hilbertian realization. By Prop. 1 of V, p. 434, there exists a unique isometric linear mapping u:E1→E2u: E_1\rightarrow E_2 such that γ2=u∘γ1\gamma_2=u\circ \gamma_1. In particular, one has x2=γ2(e)=u(γ1(e))=u(x1)x_2=\gamma_2(e) =u(\gamma_1(e)) =u(x_1). Moreover, for all gg and hh in G, one has

ϱ2(g)u(γ1(h))=ϱ2(g)γ2(h)=γ2(gh)=u(γ1(gh))=u(ϱ1(g)γ1(h)) \varrho_2(g)u(\gamma_1(h)) =\varrho_2(g)\gamma_2(h) =\gamma_2(gh) =u(\gamma_1(gh)) =u(\varrho_1(g)\gamma_1(h))

and since the set of elements γ1(h)\gamma_1(h) for h∈Gh\in G is total in E1E_1, this means that uu is a G-morphism. By loc. cit., it is an isometric isomorphism if (ϱ2,x2)(\varrho_2, x_2) is also cyclic.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
