Theory of Sets, chapter II, § 5. Product of a family of sets

Let (Xι)ι∈I(X_\iota)_{\iota \in I}, (Yι)ι∈I(Y_\iota)_{\iota \in I} be two families of sets, and let (gι)ι∈I(g_\iota)_{\iota \in I} be a family of functions with the same index set I such that gιg_\iota is a mapping of XιX_\iota into YιY_\iota for each ι∈I\iota \in I. For each f∈∏ι∈IXιf \in \prod_{\iota \in I} X_\iota let ufu_f be the graph of the function ι=gι(f(ι))\iota = g_\iota(f(\iota)) (ι∈I)(\iota \in I), which is an element of ∏ι∈IYι\prod_{\iota \in I} Y_\iota. The mapping f→uff \to u_f of ∏ι∈IXι\prod_{\iota \in I} X_\iota into ∏ι∈IYι\prod_{\iota \in I} Y_\iota is called the canonical extension (or simply the extension) to products of the family of mappings (gι)ι∈I(g_\iota)_{\iota \in I}; it is also sometimes called the product of the family of mappings (gι)ι∈I(g_\iota)_{\iota \in I}.

When the index notation is used, the product of the family (gι)ι∈I(g_\iota)_{\iota \in I} is the function (xι)ι∈I→(gι(xι))ι∈I(x_\iota)_{\iota \in I} \to (g_\iota(x_\iota))_{\iota \in I}; it is sometimes denoted by (gι)ι∈I(g_\iota)_{\iota \in I}.

If I={α,β}I = \{\alpha, \beta\}, where α\alpha and β\beta are distinct, the extension to products of the family of mappings (gι)ι∈I(g_\iota)_{\iota \in I} is just ψ∘(gα×gβ)∘φ\psi \circ (g_\alpha \times g_\beta) \circ \varphi, where φ\varphi denotes the canonical mapping of ∏ι∈IXι\prod_{\iota \in I} X_\iota onto Xα×XβX_\alpha \times X_\beta (no. 3) and ψ\psi the canonical mapping of Yα×YβY_\alpha \times Y_\beta onto ∏ι∈IYι\prod_{\iota \in I} Y_\iota.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
