Theory of Sets, chapter II, § 4. Union and intersection of a family of sets

Let (Xι)ι∈I(\mathrm{X}_\iota)_{\iota \in \mathrm{I}} be a family of mutually disjoint sets, and let (fι)ι∈I(f_\iota)_{\iota \in \mathrm{I}} be a family of functions with the same target F such that the domain of fιf_\iota is Xι\mathrm{X}_\iota for each ι∈I\iota \in \mathrm{I}. Then there exists exactly one function f with domain ⋃ι∈IXι\bigcup_{\iota \in \mathrm{I}} \mathrm{X}_\iota and target F which extends each of the functions fιf_\iota (ι∈I)(\iota \in \mathrm{I}).

This is a corollary of Proposition 7, since fιf_\iota and fϰf_\varkappa clearly agree on Xι∩Xϰ=∅\mathrm{X}_\iota \cap \mathrm{X}_\varkappa = \emptyset whenever ι≠ϰ\iota \neq \varkappa.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
