Commutative Algebra, chapter II, § 2. Rings and modules of fractions

Let AA be a ring, SS a subset of AA and uu an injective homomorphism of AA to a ring BB such that the elements of u(S)u(S) are invertible in BB. The unique homomorphism u′u' of A[S−1]A[S^{-1}] to BB such that u′∘iAS=uu' \circ i_A^S = u is then injective.

This is an immediate consequence of Proposition 2 and Remark 6.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
