Commutative Algebra, chapter II, § 4. Spectra of rings and supports of modules

Let AA be a Noetherian ring, MM a finitely generated AA-module and aa an ideal of AA. For Supp⁡(M)⊂V(a)\operatorname{Supp}(M) \subset V(a), it is necessary and sufficient that there exist an integer kk such that akM=0a^k M = 0.

If bb is the annihilator of MM, the relation Supp⁡(M)⊂V(a)\operatorname{Supp}(M) \subset V(a) is equivalent to V(b)⊂V(a)V(b) \subset V(a) by Proposition 17 and hence to a⊂r(b)a \subset r(b), where r(b)r(b) is the radical of bb (no. 3, Corollary 2 to Proposition 11). Since AA is Noetherian, this condition is also equivalent to the existence of an integer k>0k > 0 such that ak⊂ba^k \subset b (§ 2, no. 6, Proposition 15).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
