Commutative Algebra, chapter III, § 1. Finitely generated graded algebras

Let A=⨁i∈ZAiA = \bigoplus_{i \in \mathbf{Z}} A_i be a graded commutative ring with positive degrees and M=⨁i∈ZMiM = \bigoplus_{i \in \mathbf{Z}} M_i a graded AA-module. Suppose that AA is a finitely generated A0A_0-algebra and MM a finitely generated AA-module. Then, for every ordered pair (d,k)(d, k) of integers such that d⩾1,0⩽k⩽d−1d \geqslant 1, 0 \leqslant k \leqslant d - 1:

(i) A(d)A^{(d)} is a finitely generated AA-module. (ii) M(d,k)M^{(d, k)} is a finitely generated A(d)A^{(d)}-module.

Let us show that AA is a finitely generated A(d)A^{(d)}-*module*. Let (ai)1⩽i⩽s(a_i)_{1 \leqslant i \leqslant s} be a system of generators of the AA-algebra AA consisting of homogeneous elements. The elements of AA (finite in number) of the form a1α1a2α2…asαsa_1^{\alpha_1} a_2^{\alpha_2} \ldots a_s^{\alpha_s} such that 0⩽αi⩽d0 \leqslant \alpha_i \leqslant d for 1⩽i⩽s1 \leqslant i \leqslant s constitute a system of generators of the A(d)A^{(d)}-module AA; for every system of integers ni⩾0n_i \geqslant 0 (1⩽i⩽s)(1 \leqslant i \leqslant s), there are positive integers qi,riq_i, r_i such that ni=qid+rin_i = q_i d + r_i where ri<dr_i < d (1⩽i⩽s)(1 \leqslant i \leqslant s); then

a1n1a2n2…asns=(a1…asqs)d(a1r1…asrs) a_1^{n_1} a_2^{n_2} \ldots a_s^{n_s} = (a_1 \ldots a_s^{q_s})^d (a_1^{r_1} \ldots a_s^{r_s})

which proves our assertion, for every homogeneous element x∈Ax \in A satisfies xd∈A(d)x^d \in A^{(d)}. Then, if MM is a finitely generated AA-module, it is also a finitely generated A(d)A^{(d)}-module; as MM is the direct sum of the M(d,k)M^{(d, k)} (0<k<d−1)(0 < k < d - 1), each of the M(d,k)M^{(d, k)} is a finitely generated A(d)A^{(d)}-module, which proves (ii).

Let us apply the above to the graded AA-module m=⨁i⩾1Aim = \bigoplus_{i \geqslant 1} A_i, which is finitely generated by the Corollary to Proposition 1 of no. 2; it is seen that m(d)m^{(d)} is a finitely generated A(d)A^{(d)}-module; therefore (no. 2, Corollary to Proposition 1) A(d)A^{(d)} is a finitely generated AA-algebra.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
