Commutative Algebra, chapter III, § 3. m-adic topologies on Noetherian rings

The hypothesis that AA is Noetherian is essential in this corollary. For example, let AA be the ring of infinitely differentiable mappings from R\mathbf{R} to itself and let mm be the (maximal) ideal of AA consisting of the functions ff such that f(0)=0f(0) = 0. It is immediate that ⋂n=0∞mn\bigcap_{n=0}^\infty m^n is the set of functions ff such that f(n)(0)=0f^{(n)}(0) = 0 for all n≥0n \geq 0 and there exist such functions with f(x)≠0f(x) \neq 0, for all x≠0x \neq 0, for example the function ff defined by f(x)=e−1/x2f(x) = e^{-1/x^2} for x≠0x \neq 0 and f(0)=0f(0) = 0.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
