Commutative Algebra, chapter III, § 4. Lifting in complete rings

With the notation of Remark 2, suppose further that AA is Hausdorff and complete and let us write every restricted formal power series f∈A{X1,…,Xr}f \in A\{X_1, \ldots, X_r\} in the form

f=∑(ni)cnr+1…np(X1,…,Xr)Xr+1nr+1…Xpnp f = \sum_{(n_i)} c_{n_{r+1} \ldots n_p}(X_1, \ldots, X_r) X_{r+1}^{n_{r+1}} \ldots X_p^{n_p}

where the cnr+1…npc_{n_{r+1} \ldots n_p} are restricted formal power series. For every system x=(x1,…,xr)x = (x_1, \ldots, x_r) of elements of AA, let

bnr+1…np=cnr+1…np(x1,…,xp). b_{n_{r+1} \ldots n_p} = c_{n_{r+1} \ldots n_p}(x_1, \ldots, x_p).

It follows immediately from Remark 1 that ∑(ni)bnr+1…npXr+1nr+1…Xpnp\sum_{(n_i)} b_{n_{r+1} \ldots n_p} X_{r+1}^{n_{r+1}} \ldots X_p^{n_p} is a restricted formal power series denoted by f(x1,…,xr,Xr+1,…,Xp)f(x_1, \ldots, x_r, X_{r+1}, \ldots, X_p); it is said to be obtained by substituting the xix_i for the XiX_i for 1≤i≤r1 \leq i \leq r in ff.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
