Commutative Algebra, chapter IV, § 3. Primary decomposition in graded modules
*Let be a torsion-free commutative group, a graded Noetherian ring of type and a graded -module of type . Let be a prime ideal of and , a submodule of which is -primary with respect to .
(i) The largest graded ideal of contained in (Algebra, Chapter 11, § 11, no. 3) is prime.
(ii) The largest graded submodule of is -primary with respect to .*
We know (loc. cit.) that the homogeneous elements of (resp. ) are just the homogeneous elements of (resp. ). Let be a homogeneous element of ; if is a homogeneous element of , there exists an integer such that ; as is homogeneous, ; as every is the direct sum of a finite number of homogeneous elements, we conclude that there exists an integer such that , so that the homothety with ratio in is almost nilpotent.
Consider now a homogeneous element of ; then since is homogeneous. Let be an element of such that and let be the family of homogeneous components of . As is graded, for all , hence and, as , we conclude that ; as is homogeneous, , whence and the homothety with ratio on is injective. Proposition 4 then follows from Proposition 3 applied to and .
Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
