Commutative Algebra, chapter V, § 2. The lift of prime ideals

With the hypotheses and notation Of Theorem 2, let f1,f2f_1, f_2 be two homomorphisms of AA to a field LL with the same restriction to AA. Then there exists σ∈G\sigma \in \mathscr{G} such that

f2(x)=f1(σ.x) f_2(x) = f_1(\sigma.x)

for all x∈A′x \in A'.

Let pi′p'_i be the kernel of fif_i (i=1,2i = 1, 2) which is a prime ideal of A′A'; by hypothesis p1′∩A=p2′∩Ap'_1 \cap A = p'_2 \cap A and this intersection is a prime ideal pp of AA; there therefore exists τ∈G\tau \in \mathscr{G} such that τ.p2′=p1′\tau.p'_2 = p'_1 (Theorem 2 (i)); replacing f1f_1 by the homomorphism x↦f1(τ.x)x \mapsto f_1(\tau.x) we may then assume that p2′=p1′p'_2 = p'_1 (an ideal which we shall denote by p′p'). By taking the quotient we then derive from f1f_1 and f2f_2 two injective homomorphisms f1′,f2′f'_1, f'_2 from A′/p′A'/p' to LL which therefore extend to two injective homomorphisms f1′′,f2′′f''_1, f''_2 from the field of fractions k′k' of A′/p′A'/p' to LL. As k′k' is a quasi-Galois extension of kk, so is k1′′=f1′′(k′)k''_1 = f''_1(k') and k2′′=f2′′(k′)k''_2 = f''_2(k') (k being identified with a subfield of LL) and, as there is a k-isomorphism of k1′′k''_1 onto k2′′,k1′′=k2′′k''_2, k''_1 = k''_2 (Algebra, Chapter V, § 6, Proposition 6). Thus f1′′∘f2′′−1f''_1 \circ {f''_2}^{-1} is a k-automorphism of k′k'; by Theorem 2 (ii) it is therefore of the form 6, where σ∈Gz(p′)\sigma \in \mathscr{G}^z(p'). In particular, for all x∈A′x \in A' the elements f2(x)f_2(x) and f1(σ.x)f_1(\sigma.x) are equal.

Remarks

(1) Note that under the hypotheses of Theorem 2 k′k' may be infinite over kk if k′k' is not separable over kk (Exercise 9).

(2) Clearly kk is a Galois extension of kk if the field kk is perfect. It is then finite over kk.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
