Commutative Algebra, chapter VI, § 3. Valuations

Let G be an ordered set. A subset of G is called major if the relations x∈Mx \in M and y≥xy \geq x imply y∈My \in M.

Let KK be a field, vv a valuation on KK, AA the ring of vv and GG the order group of vv. For every major subset M⊂GM \subset G, let a(M)a(M) be the set of x∈Kx \in K such that v(x)∈M∪{+∞}v(x) \in M \cup \{+\infty\}. Clearly a(M)a(M) is a sub-A-module of KK.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
