Commutative Algebra, chapter VI, § 3. Valuations

The mapping M↦a(M)M \mapsto a(M) is an increasing bijection of the set of major subsets of GG onto the set of sub-A-modules of KK.

Let bb be a sub-A-module of KK. The set of v(x)v(x) for x∈b−(0)x \in b - (0) is a major subset M(b)M(b) of GG. Proposition 7 will be shown if the following equations are proved:

(2) M(a(N))=NM(a(N)) = N for every major subset NN of GG; (3) a(M(b))=ba(M(b)) = b for every sub-A-module bb of KK.

Formula (2) is easy, since, for all m∈Nm \in N, there exists x∈Kx \in K such that v(x)=mv(x) = m. Then obviously b⊂a(M(b))b \subset a(M(b)); conversely, let x∈a(M(b))x \in a(M(b)) and suppose x≠0x \neq 0;

then v(x)∈M(b)v(x) \in M(b) and therefore there exists y∈by \in b such that v(x)=v(y)v(x) = v(y); whence x=uyx = uy where v(u)=0v(u) = 0, which proves that x∈Ax \in A y⊂by \subset b and completes the proof.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
