Commutative Algebra, chapter VII, § 1. Krull domains

Let AA be a Krull domain, (vP)P∈P(A)(v_P)_{P \in P(A)} the family of its essential valuations and a∈I(A)a \in I(A). Then the coefficient of PP in div⁡a\operatorname{div} a is inf⁡y∈a(vP(y))\inf_{y \in a} (v_P(y)). If pp is the divisorial prime ideal corresponding to the extremal divisor PP, then aAp=a~ApaA_p = \tilde{a}A_p.

As a=∑y∈aAxa = \sum_{y \in a} Ax, Proposition 2 (b) (no. 1) shows that div⁡(a)=inf⁡x∈a(div⁡(Ax))\operatorname{div}(a) = \inf_{x \in a} (\operatorname{div}(Ax)), whence our first assertion. The second follows immediately, since div⁡a~=div⁡a\operatorname{div} \tilde{a} = \operatorname{div} a and ApA_p is the ring of the discrete valuation vPv_P.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
