Commutative Algebra, chapter VII, § 4. Modules over integrally closed Noetherian domains

Let M be a torsion-free finitely generated A-module. There exists a free submodule L of M such that M/L is isomorphic to an ideal of A.

We shall denote by nn the rank of MM (rank of V=M⊗AKV = M \otimes_A K over KK) and consider MM as a lattice of VV with respect to AA. Then, for all p∈P(A)p \in P(A), MpM_p is a lattice of VV with respect to ApA_p (no. 1, Example 6) and, as AA, is a principal ideal domain, MM, is a free AA-module of rank nn. We shall write:

M(p)=Mp/pMp. M(p) = M_p/pM_p.

We shall denote by k(p)k(p) the field of fractions of A/pA/p (isomorphic to the residue field of ApA_p); M(p)=M⊗Ak(p)M(p) = M \otimes_A k(p) is therefore a vector space of rank nn over k(p)k(p). For all x∈Mx \in M, we shall denote by x(p)x(p) the canonical image of xx in M(p)M(p).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
