Algebra, chapter I, § 3. Actions

A subset AA of a set EE is called stable under an action α↦fα\alpha \mapsto f_\alpha of Ω\Omega on EE if fα(A)⊂Af_\alpha(A) \subset A for all α∈Ω\alpha \in \Omega. An element xx of EE is called invariant under an element α\alpha of Ω\Omega if fα(x)=xf_\alpha(x) = x.

The intersection of a family of stable subsets of EE under a given action is stable. There therefore exists a smallest stable subset of EE containing a given subset XX of EE; it is said to be generated by XX; it consists of the elements (fα1∘fα2∘⋯∘fαn)(x)(f_{\alpha_1} \circ f_{\alpha_2} \circ \cdots \circ f_{\alpha_n})(x), where x∈X,n≥0,αi∈Ωx \in X, n \geq 0, \alpha_i \in \Omega for all ii.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
