Algebra, chapter II, § 6. Inverse and direct limits of modules

Let EE be an AA*-module and* (Mα)α∈I(M_\alpha)_{\alpha \in I} an increasing family of submodules of EE such that EE is the union of the MαM_\alpha; if jβα:Mα→Mβj_{\beta \alpha}: M_\alpha \to M_\beta (for α≤β\alpha \leq \beta) and jα:Mα→Ej_\alpha: M_\alpha \to E are the canonical injections, it is immediate that j=lim⁡⟶jαj = \lim \longrightarrow j_\alpha is an isomorphism of lim⁡⟶Mα\lim \longrightarrow M_\alpha onto EE (Set Theory, III, § 7, no. 6, Remark 1). In particular, every AA*-module is the direct limit of the right directed family of its finitely generated submodules.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
