Algebra, chapter II, § 10. Matrices

If XX is an invertible square matrix of order nn over a field K\mathbf{K}, there exist three invertible matrices P,Q,DP, Q, D of order nn such that X=PDQX = PDQ, PP and QQ being products of matrices of the form Bij(λ)B_{ij}(\lambda) and DD a diagonal matrix of the form

D=diag⁡(1,1,…,δ), D = \operatorname{diag}(1, 1, \ldots, \delta),

where δ≠0\delta \neq 0 (cf. Exercise 13).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
