Algebra, V, p. 10, § 2. Extensions

*Let K,EK, E and FF be three fields such that K⊂E⊂FK \subset E \subset F. Suppose that [F:K][F : K] is finite, then the relation [E:K]=[F:K][E : K] = [F : K] is equivalent to E=FE = F and the relation [F:E]=[F:K][F : E] = [F : K] is equivalent to E=KE = K.

For if LL is an extension field of L′L' then [L:L′]=1[L : L'] = 1 is equivalent to L′=LL' = L.*

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
