Algebra, V, p. 29, § 6. Etale algebras

— Let A1,…,ArA_1, \ldots, A_r be algebras over KK and A=A1×⋯×ArA = A_1 \times \cdots \times A_r. For AA to be etale it is necessary and sufficient that A1,…,ArA_1, \ldots, A_r are etale.

Suppose that AA is etale; each of the algebras A1,…,ArA_1, \ldots, A_r is isomorphic to a quotient of AA, and hence is etale by Prop. 3. Conversely, every extension of KK which diagonalizes A1,…,ArA_1, \ldots, A_r clearly diagonalizes AA.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
