Algebra, chapter V, § 7. Separable algebraic extensions

— Let EE be an extension of KK and (Ei)i∈I(E_i)_{i \in I} a family of subextensions of EE such that E=K(⋃i∈IEi)E = K \left( \bigcup_{i \in I} E_i \right). If each extension EiE_i is algebraic and separable over KK, the same is true of EE.

This follows at once from Prop. 6 (V, p. 39).

1^1 The reader may convince himself that Th. 1 is used nowhere before the proof of Lemma 1 of V, p. 78.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
