Algebra, V, p. 67, § 10. Galois extensions

Let E be a subextension of N. Then N is a Galois extension of E and Gal(N/E)\mathrm{Gal}(N/E) is a closed subgroup of Gal(N/K)\mathrm{Gal}(N/K) with the induced topology.

Let x∈Nx \in N; the minimal polynomial f of x over E divides in E[X]E[X] the minimal polynomial gg of x over K (V, p. 17, Cor. 2). Since N is Galois over K, the polynomial g is a product in N[X]N[X] of distinct factors of degree 1; hence the same is true of f and so N is Galois over E.

Let Γ\Gamma be the Galois group of N over K and A that of N over E. By definition A is the subgroup of Γ\Gamma consisting of all σ\sigma such that σ(x)=x\sigma(x) = x for all x∈Ex \in E. Now for each x∈Ex \in E the mapping σ↦σ(x)\sigma \mapsto \sigma(x) of Γ\Gamma into the discrete space N is continuous, hence D is closed in Γ\Gamma. Let σ∈Γ\sigma \in \Gamma; for x1,…,xnx_1, \ldots, x_n in N let U(x1,…,xn)U(x_1, \ldots, x_n) be the set of all τ∈Γ\tau \in \Gamma such that τ(xi)=σ(xi)\tau(x_i) = \sigma(x_i) for 1≤i≤n1 \leq i \leq n; put

V(x1,…,xn)=U(x1,…,xn)∩Δ. V(x_1, \ldots, x_n) = U(x_1, \ldots, x_n) \cap \Delta.

Then the family of sets U(x1,…,xn)U(x_1, \ldots, x_n) (resp. V(x1,…,xn)V(x_1, \ldots, x_n)) is a base of neighbourhoods of σ\sigma in Γ\Gamma (resp. A). Hence the topology on A is that induced by Γ\Gamma.

B) The relation A=g(k(Δ))A = g(k(\Delta)) (for A∈gA \in g) is a consequence of the following more precise lemma:

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
