Algebra, chapter V, § 11. Abelian extensions

— For every integer n≥1n \geq 1 prime to pp the extension Rn(K)R_n(K) of K is abelian of finite degree, its Galois group is isomorphic to a subgroup of (Z/nZ)∗(\mathbf{Z}/n\mathbf{Z})^* and its degree divides the order φ(n)\varphi(n) of (Z/nZ)∗(\mathbf{Z}/n\mathbf{Z})^*.

Let Q be an algebraic closure of the field Q of rational numbers, and let n be an integer. Then the cyclotomic polynomial Φn\Phi_n of level nn is defined by

Φn(X)=∏ζ∈Sn(X−ζ), \Phi_n(X) = \prod_{\zeta \in S_n} (X - \zeta),

where SnS_n is the set of primitive n-th roots of unity in QQ. The polynomial Φn\Phi_n is of degree φ(n)\varphi(n) (Prop. 4). It is clear that Φn(X)\Phi_n(X) is invariant under all automorphisms of Qˉ\bar{\mathbf{Q}}, and so belongs to Q[X]\mathbf{Q}[X]. Since every element ζ\zeta of SnS_n is a root of the polynomial Xn−1X^n - 1, the polynomial Φn(X)\Phi_n(X) divides Xn−1X^n - 1, and the following lemma shows that Φn(X)\Phi_n(X) is a monic polynomial with integer coefficients.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
