Algebra, chapter V, § 11. Abelian extensions

Conversely let a∈K∗a \in K^* and let rr be the least integer >0> 0 such that a′∈K∗na' \in K^{*n}; then the subfield LL of Ω\Omega generated by the roots of the polynomial Xn−aX^n - a is a cyclic extension of KK of degree rr. In particular, Xn−aX^n - a is irreducible if and only if r=nr = n.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
