Algebra, chapter V, § 13. p-radical extensions of height _ 1

— For each x∈L−Kx \in L - K, there exists a p-basis of L over K containing X.

For {x}\{x\} is a p-free subset of LL over KK and so it is enough to apply Th. 2, a).

Let K be a field and LL an extension of K. If DD is a K-derivation of L with values in a vector L-space, then we have D(xp)=0D(x^p) = 0 for all x∈Lx \in L, and so DD is a K(Lp)K(L^p)-derivation; it follows that ΩK(L)=ΩK(Lp)(L)\Omega_K(L) = \Omega_{K(L^p)}(L). Since LL is a p-radical extension of height ≤1\leq 1 of K(Lp)K(L^p), we can apply the above results. For example, from Th. 1, c) we deduce the following: let (xi)i∈I(x_i)_{i \in I} be a family of elements of LL; for (dxi)i∈I(dx_i)_{i \in I} to be a basis of the vector L-space ΩK(L)\Omega_K(L) it is necessary and sufficient that (xi)i∈I(x_i)_{i \in I} should be a p-basis of L over K(Lp)K(L^p). Similarly, Cor. 2 of Prop. 5 implies:

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
