Algebra, chapter V, § 17. Regular extensions

Let Ω\Omega be an extension of a field KK and L,ML, M two subextensions of Ω\Omega. Suppose that LL is separable over KK and that the relative separable closure of KK in MM is equal to KK. If LL and MM are algebraically disjoint over KK, then they are linearly disjoint over KK.

By Prop. 10 it is enough to remark that the ring L⊗KML \otimes_K M is an integral domain (V, p. 140, Cor.).

Exercises

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
