Algebra, chapter VII, § 1. Principal ideal domains

— Elements xi (i∈I)x_i \ (i \in I) of a principal ideal domain AA are setwise coprime if and only if there exist elements ai (i∈I)a_i \ (i \in I) of AA, all but finitely many of them zero, such that ∑aixi=1\sum a_i x_i = 1.

The necessity of the condition is just Prop. 1. Conversely, if ∑aixi=1\sum a_i x_i = 1 then every common divisor of the xix_i divides 1, and so 1 is a gcd of the xix_i.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
