Topological Vector Spaces, chapter I, § 1. Topological vector spaces

Let E be a vector space over a topological division ring K, and let (Ti)i∈I(\mathscr{T}_i)_{i \in I} be a family of topologies compatible with the vector space structure of E; then the upper bound T\mathscr{T} of the topologies Ti\mathscr{T}_i is compatible with the vector space structure of E.

For, if EtE_t denotes the topological vector space obtained from EE by the topology Tt\mathscr{T}_t, and ftf_t the identity map of EE on EtE_t, then T\mathscr{T} is the coarsest topology making the ftf_t continuous.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
