Topological Vector Spaces, II, p. 17, § 2. Convex sets

If ff is convex in XX, then for all α∈R\alpha \in \mathbf{R}, the set of x∈Xx \in X such that f(x)⩽αf(x) \leqslant \alpha (resp. f(x)<αf(x) < \alpha) is convex.

In fact, it is the projection on EE of the intersection of FF (resp. F′F') and the hyperplane E×{α}E \times \{\alpha\} in E×RE \times \mathbf{R}.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
