Topological Vector Spaces, chapter II, § 8. Complex locally convex spaces

— In a complex locally convex space E, every closed complex linear variety M is the intersection of the closed complex hyperplanes which contain it.

In fact, for all x∉Mx \notin M, there exists a convex open neighbourhood VV of xx that does not meet MM, and thus there exists a closed complex hyperplane HH containing MM and not meeting VV; a fortiori HH does not contain xx.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
