Topological Vector Spaces, chapter II, § 8. Complex locally convex spaces

Let AA be a balanced, closed, convex set in a complex locally convex space EE and let KK be a non-empty compact convex set in EE that does not meet AA. Then there exists a continuous complex linear form ff on EE and a number α>0\alpha > 0 such that ∣f(x)∣<α|f(x)| < \alpha in AA and ∣f(y)∣>α|f(y)| > \alpha in KK.

The proposition follows from II, p. 38, prop. 4 as prop. 2 follows from II, p. 37, prop. 1.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
