Topological Vector Spaces, chapter III, § 1. Bornology in a topological vector space

— Let (En)n≥0(E_n)_{n \geq 0} be a sequence of Hausdorff locally convex spaces, and for every nn, let un:En→En+1u_n : E_n \to E_{n+1} be an injective linear mapping which is compact (i.e. such that there exists a neighbourhood of 0 in EnE_n whose image under unu_n is relatively compact; this implies that unu_n is continuous). Let EE be the inductive limit of the system (En,un)(E_n, u_n) (II, p. 29), and let vnv_n be the canonical mapping from EnE_n into EE. Then the locally convex space EE is Hausdorff. Moreover, for every subset AA of EE, the following conditions are equivalent : (i) AA is bounded; (ii) there exists an integer nn such that AA is the image under vnv_n of a bounded subset of EnE_n; (iii) AA is relatively compact. We identify EnE_n with a vector subspace of EE (endowed with a topology finer than the induced topology).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
