Topological Vector Spaces, chapter V, § 1. Prehilbertian spaces and hilbertian spaces

\* Let X be a differential variety of class CrC^r (with r⩾1r \geqslant 1) pure of finite dimension nn.

In the vector fibre space ΛnT(X)\Lambda^n T(X), let L be the complement of the zero section. For every real number λ≠0\lambda \neq 0, the mapping u↦λuu \mapsto \lambda u from ΛnT(X)\Lambda^n T(X) into itself leaves L stable.

Let α\alpha be a complex number. A complex valued function ω\omega on L such that ω(λu)=∣λ∣αω(u)\omega(\lambda u) = |\lambda|^{\alpha} \omega(u) for u∈Lu \in L and any non-zero real number λ\lambda is called a density of order α\alpha on X. We say that a density ω\omega of order 1 is locally integrable if there exists an open cover (Ui)i∈I(U_i)_{i \in I} of X, and for every i∈Ii \in I a system of coordinates ξi=(ξi1,...,ξin)\xi_i = (\xi_i^1, ..., \xi_i^n) on UiU_i and a complex valued function fif_i on ξi(Ui)\xi_i(U_i) satisfying the following conditions:

a) The function fif_i is locally integrable on the open set ξi(Ui)\xi_i(U_i) of Rn\mathbf{R}^n with respect to the Lebesgue measure μ\mu;

b) Let x∈Uix \in U_i; if (∂1,i,x,...,∂n,i,x)(\partial_{1,i,x}, ..., \partial_{n,i,x}) is the basis of TxXT_x X associated to the system of coordinates (ξi′,...,ξin)(\xi_i', ..., \xi_i^n) in UiU_i we have

ω(∂1,i,x∧...∧∂n,i,x)=fi(ξi1(x),...,ξin(x)). \omega(\partial_{1,i,x} \wedge ... \wedge \partial_{n,i,x}) = f_i(\xi_i^1(x), ..., \xi_i^n(x)) .

Then, there exists one and only one measure ω~\tilde{\omega} on X such that for every i∈Ii \in I, the image under ξi\xi_i of the restriction of ω~\tilde{\omega} to UiU_i is equal to the measure fi⋅μf_i \cdot \mu (cf. VAR, R, 10.4.3).

Let V\mathscr{V} (resp. N\mathscr{N}) be the vector space of measurable densities ω\omega of order 1/2 such that the measure associated with the density ∣ω∣2|\omega|^2 of order 1 is bounded (resp. null). Let ω1\omega_1 and ω2\omega_2 be in V\mathscr{V}; then ω=ω1‾ω2\omega = \overline{\omega_1} \omega_2 is a density of order 1, and the measure ω~\tilde{\omega} associated with ω\omega is bounded; the number ∫Xω~\int_X \tilde{\omega} depends only on the classes ω˙1\dot{\omega}_1 and ω˙2\dot{\omega}_2 of ω1\omega_1 and ω2\omega_2 modulo N\mathscr{N} and is denoted by ⟨ω1∣ω2⟩\langle \omega_1 | \omega_2 \rangle or ⟨ω˙1∣ω˙2⟩\langle \dot{\omega}_1 | \dot{\omega}_2 \rangle. Then the mapping (ω˙1,ω˙2)↦⟨ω˙1∣ω˙2⟩(\dot{\omega}_1, \dot{\omega}_2) \mapsto \langle \dot{\omega}_1 | \dot{\omega}_2 \rangle assigns a complex hilbertian space structure to the vector space Ω1/2(X)=V/N\Omega_{1/2}(X) = \mathscr{V}/\mathscr{N}.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
