Topological Vector Spaces, chapter V, § 4. Some classes of operators in hilbertian spaces

Let I and J be two sets. By the proof given above, in order that a mapping uu from ℓ2(I)\ell^2(I) into ℓ2(J)\ell^2(J) be a Hilbert-Schmidt mapping, it is necessary and sufficient that there exists a matrix (aji)(a_{ji}) in ℓ2(J×I)\ell^2(J \times I) such that u(ξ)j=∑i∈Iajiξiu(\xi)_j = \sum_{i \in I} a_{ji} \xi_i for all ξ=(ξi)\xi = (\xi_i) in ℓ2(I)\ell^2(I).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
