Topological Vector Spaces, chapter V, § 4. Some classes of operators in hilbertian spaces

Let EE and FF be two hilbertian spaces and vv a linear, not necessarily continuous mapping from EE into FF. Let H(x)=∥x∥2H(x) = \|x\|^2 and Q(x)=∥v(x)∥2Q(x) = \|v(x)\|^2 for all x∈Ex \in E. It follows from prop. 15 that vv is a Hilbert-Schmidt mapping if and only if Tr⁡(Q/H)\operatorname{Tr}(Q/H) is finite, and then Tr⁡(Q/H)=∥v∥22\operatorname{Tr}(Q/H) = \|v\|_2^2.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
