Functions of a Real Variable, chapter I, § 4. CONVEX FUNCTIONS OF A REAL VARIABLE

Let (fα)(f_\alpha) be a family of convex functions on an interval I⊂RI \subset \mathbf{R}; if the upper envelope gg of this family is finite at every point of II then gg is convex on II.

Indeed, the set of points (x,y)∈R2(x, y) \in \mathbf{R}^2 lying above the graph of gg is the intersection of the convex sets formed by the points lying above the graph of each of the functions fαf_\alpha; so it is convex.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
