Functions of a Real Variable, chapter I, § 4. CONVEX FUNCTIONS OF A REAL VARIABLE

Let ff be a finite real function defined on an open interval I⊂RI \subset \mathbf{R}. If for every point x∈Ix \in I there is an open interval Jx⊂IJ_x \subset I containing xx and such that the restriction of ff to JxJ_x is convex on JxJ_x, then ff is convex on II.

It is clear that ff satisfies the criterion of prop. 9.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
